it's midnight and i just fielded a hysterical phone call from my mom
she was crying and screaming...
i thought it was bad. more shit with my dad... you know... the fun stuff that the daughter confidant gets to hear about when she's very close with her mom...
but no.
my mom won on the lotto.
she just logged in to her account online to check the results from the draw tonight.
she didn't win millions... but she did win $25,649.00
and that is huge to her right now.
and huge to me.
because she said that the xmas trip to jamiaca for my husband and i, is on her...
tomorrow morning she's picking me up at 8:30am and we're heading out to richmond to get her cheque.
then we're going to the spa.
tomorrow should be a great fucking day.
if i don't make it back to the computer... well, i have good reason.
you know, i have to say that all day today i've been in a pretty foul mood.
lots of shit has been raining down on me lately and today was just a bad day.
but just a few minutes before the day ended this happened.
and you know... it makes me feel really good to hear my mom that happy.
sure, if she had won $25 million we would have lost our shit... but $25 grand is pretty fucking amazing for folks like us.
and now my brother and my dad officially have to shut the fuck up about how much my mom and i play the lottery... because that $8 a week that we spend just paid off...
in fact, we could have played our $8 a week for 60 years and still would have come out ahead...
see... gambling does pay. sometimes...

Is it no coincidence that she won $25,649 playing (I assume) the Lotto 649?
Or is this like one of thise spooky moments when you buy a pack of gum, a candy bar, and a Gatorade at the gas station and your total bill happens to be $6.66?
