liar liar pants on fire
so, as it turns out, not only do i know many many cure songs...
but i somehow had completely forgotten how much i enjoy the cure.
i also somehow forgot that i owned several cure albums when i was a youngster.
apparently i needed a refresher.
the show was excellent.
excellent.
it kind of reminded me of seeing depeche mode, but not at all.
like, similar to depeche mode, the cure has a massive impressive back catalog and was very influential in shaping much of the music that i love today.
so seeing them live was rather like seeing the fathers of every band that i listen to now.
pretty cool stuff.
our seats were the best in the house.
front row centre.
i have never sat front row for a stadium show before.
it was really amazing.
and well worth every penny spent and more.
they played for 3 hours, as promised... and although i'm not super versed in their song titles and albums, i do know that every song of theirs i could thinks of - aka. all the singles - were played. all of them.
and i was pleasantly surprised that i knew about 80% of the songs they played. and the other 20% sounded pretty good in my ear holes too.
here's the set list.
3 encores.
nicely done boys.

Also ... one of my favorite Smith's songs is ....... oh shit, I forget the name .... it goes .... "I would go out tonight, but I hadn't got a stitch to wear" ...

Seriously, how AMAZING was that show? I loved it. So much. Hearing "Close To Me" and "Just Like Heaven" made me get a little emotional. It made my heart happy. The only sucky thing was that they sold out of the shirt I wanted at the merch table. That's what I get for not going there straight away, though.
